All new... Bouldering Improvers League
Posted: reach-news, 17th May 2012, 9:58 am
Signs are up around the wall describing the new Bouldering Improvers League which has just been introduced here at The Reach...
Win prizes each month for improving your bouldering. What's not to like? You'll be inspired to boulder more, and improve your climbing skills...
How it works
You will see:
- 20 Pink boulder routes set every month, graded from Vb – V4
- The 20 routes each have a tag number (1 to 20). The lower the tag number, the easier the climb
To enter:
- Pay £1 for a score card
- At the end of the month, return the score card to reception
- Results will be posted on the website, and prizes announced, within a week
How to score
For each route:
- Climbing it in 1 attempt scores 10 points; 2 attempts = 7 points; 3 attempts = 4 points; 4 to 10 attempts = 1 point
- Maximum points available = 200 (per month)
How to win:
- The person who improves most on their score from the previous month wins a prize. (except in month 1 the prize goes to highest scorer)
- There are 3 categories of prizewinners:
- Female (18 and over)
- Male (18 and over)
- Under 18s
So…
Just for fun, if you are new to bouldering, get a card, try the routes and see how you’ve improved each month.
