About Us

The Reach Indoor Climbing Wall, located right by the Thames, between the Thames Barrier and the Woolwich Ferry, opened its doors in January 2010. Since then, our facilities have been constantly developing – we’re already one of the most impressive walls in the country – and this improvement is ongoing...

Our spectacular climbing facilities are designed to be enjoyed by climbers of almost any age or ability, from the most formidably experienced altitude chaser or thrill seeker to the complete novice; from fitness fanatics to leisure-loving layabouts...

Why not take the photographic tour of the myriad climbing challenges which await you here at The Reach, including around 80 roped lines up to 11 metres high, with around 50 lead climbs; there is also around 650 sq metres of bouldering surface on the mezzanine floor, as well as a huge free-standing 4 metre high boulder on the ground floor...

As well as being open 7 days a week for recreational climbing, we also offer instructed sessions for individuals or groups as young as 7 years old, including:

If you want to buy climbing equipment, there’s a fantastic shop on site – ‘Cold Mountain Kit’ – selling everything from climbing shoes and karabiners to guide books and arcane trad climbing gear. The friendly guys at Cold Mountain are on hand every day except Fridays, happy to offer advice, or just talk shop.

There’s also Rosielee’s superb cafe on the mezzanine floor, for handmade sandwiches, hot food, beverages, and Rosie’s justifiably famous homemade cakes, which have to be seen – and tasted – to be believed.

So contact us if you have any questions, or drop in for a guided walk around the place. We look forward to seeing you at The Reach... Come on down and get on up!
