At The Reach anyone under the age of 18 may climb under the supervision of an adult climber who is registered with us. If you are between the ages of 14 – 17 you may climb unsupervised with your parent or guardian’s consent provided you pass our U18's member's assessment.

U18's assessments

Assessments are carried out by Reach staff and must be booked in advance. To pass it is expected that you will have at least six months previous indoor climbing experience. The assessment will cover all aspects of indoor climbing including lead climbing awareness. To book call us on 0208 855 9598.

U18s club

Come and have a go at climbing! Ideal for first timers, regular climbers working on their skills or if you are looking for a fun one-off climbing session to fill in your afternoon.

Weekends 3.30 – 5.00pm
Cost: £7

14 years+ Meet-up

Participants must be able to climb and belay safely as this is an unsupervised session. Parental consent and a short assessment are necessary before joining.

Saturdays 2.00pm – 5.00pm

NICAS

The National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS) is designed to introduce climbers aged seven and upwards to indoor climbing in a series of five levels of increasing technical skill and knowledge. NICAS is a UK wide scheme designed to promote climbing development and accredit individual achievement. It can be used as a starting point for people wishing to take up climbing and mountaineering. Cost includes registration and log book.

School Holiday club

Can’t get enough?! We run extra climbing sessions during the holidays in addition to the existing U18s Club. Session times will be posted in advance of holidays up on our website events page.

The Reach Youth Competition squad

These sessions are for competent junior climbers who would like to take part in climbing competitions. Members of the squad will need to be able to come and train regularly. Each session will include one hours coaching and training advice from one of our instructors followed by climbing practice.
