About Us
About The Reach
|
The company was set up in 2003 to run outdoor adventurous activities for all ages, with a special focus on disadvantaged young people in and around South London. |
|
|
In 2010, we opened The Reach to provide a large indoor facility for recreational climbing, south of the river, open to all. |
|
|
The Reach offers a fantastic space for beginners to learn and for experienced climbers to excel. We have some of the best Bouldering, Auto-Belay, Top-Roping and Lead Climbing routes, with all the facilities required for a great day of climbing. |
About Our Staff
|
We have an experienced and welcoming team of staff, with a wide pool of professional route setters and instructors (holding all the required qualifications and insurance). |
|
|
All personnel receive regular training in Safeguarding and Data Protection — and all eligible personnel have enhanced DBS checks. |

About Us
Accessibility
Climbing for Everyone
Climbing at The Reach is accessible to a very wide range of people. We actively encourage para climbers, people with visual or hearing impairment, those with Special Educational Needs and people of all shapes, sizes and ages to climb with us.
Climbing Areas

All top rope, lead and auto belay walls are on the main (ground) floor and can be accessed by wheelchairs. |
|
|
The main (ground) floor bouldering has a 20cm step up onto the soft crash matting. |
|
|
There is more bouldering on the mezzanine floor, accessed via a 2-tiered staircase (approx. 1.5 metres wide, 22 steps), with a further 30cm step up onto the soft crash matting. |
|
|
There is rubber matting surrounding most of the main (ground) floor. This has a ramp on all edges, with a gradient of 12° (1:5). |
|
|
The Reach has a pair of Bluetooth headsets available to use. Please contact us before your visit so we can ensure the set is charged. |
|
|
Please let our reception staff know if you would like the volume of music in the centre turned down. |
|
|
We have a selection of harnesses available for rental, in a range of sizes, including child's full body harnesses and chest harness attachments for adults. |
Other Facilities
|
The Café is on the mezzanine floor, accessed via a 2-tiered staircase (approx. 1.5 metres wide, 22 steps). |
|
|
The Training Room is also on the mezzanine floor, accessed via the stairs. |
|
|
The Bodyworks Studio can be used as a quiet area when not being used for other activities. Bodyworks is on the main (ground) floor and has a 20cm step up into it through a fairly narrow door. |
|
|
We have an Accessible toilet and accessible baby-changing facilities on the ground floor. |
|
|
Changing rooms and showers are also on the ground floor and can be accessed by wheelchairs. |
|
|
The onsite car park is situated approximately 100m from our front door and is wheelchair accessible. |
|
|
The main entrance is the only fire exit that is wheelchair accessible. All other fire exits have some stairs. |

Reception
We very much consider all our staff as family at The Reach. Our reception team are all trained to help you with whatever you may need.
Kit Hire
We have all the equipment you will need to get you climbing: Climbing shoes, harness, padded harness, belay & karabiners and chalk bags.
Car Parking
We have a large shared car park on site, with no fees, so you can take all the time you need!
Bike Racks
Cycling is one of the best ways to get to The Reach. There is a cycle path running right next to our site. We have lots of racks available to chain your bike to.
Cafe
Crag Snacks
Our cafe is situated on our mezzanine floor. It's the perfect place for climbers/parents to grab a coffee, meal or cake. Note: under 18s may not use the cafe unless under the signed supervision of an adult member.
Water
We have a free water fountain downstairs and you can ask for free water upstairs in the cafe.
Lockers
We have lots of locker space available for storing all your valuables. Just bring a £1 coin to release the key (you get your £1 back when you return the key).
Showers
There are showers in the changing rooms which you can use for free after climbing.
