These terms ("Terms") govern your use of The Reach Climbing Wall and the website at thereach.org.uk. The Reach Climbing Wall is operated by Leap Training Ltd, a company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales under company number 4943740, with its registered address at Unit 6, Mellish Estate, Harrington Way, London SE18 5NR.
In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Leap Training Ltd trading as The Reach Climbing Wall. "You" and "your" refer to anyone who uses our facilities, books an activity, holds a membership, or uses our website.
By booking a session, purchasing a membership, registering an account, or otherwise using our facilities or website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our facilities or services.
1. Bookings, payments and registration
1.1. All climbing sessions, courses, events and memberships are subject to availability. We accept bookings online via our booking portal at portal.thereach.org.uk and in person at the centre.
1.2. To climb at The Reach you must first complete our registration and waiver process. Under-18s require a parent or guardian to complete registration on their behalf and to comply with our unaccompanied-climbing rules where applicable.
1.3. Payment is taken at the time of booking. We accept all major debit and credit cards via Windcave, our PCI DSS Level 1-certified payment processor. We do not see or store your full payment card details.
1.4. Prices displayed on our website and at the centre are inclusive of any applicable VAT (Leap Training Ltd is currently not VAT-registered). Prices may change without notice; the price applicable to your booking is the price displayed at the time of confirmation.
2. Cancellations, refunds and transfers
2.1. Climbing sessions, day passes and entry tickets. These are non-refundable but may be transferred to another date subject to availability and notice given.
2.2. Courses. You may cancel a course booking up to 7 days before the start date for a full refund. Cancellations made between 48 hours and 7 days before will receive a 50% refund or full transfer to a future course. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the start are non-refundable.
2.3. Events and competitions. Refund eligibility for individual events is set on a per-event basis and shown at the point of booking.
2.4. Memberships and passes. Memberships and multi-visit passes are non-refundable and non-transferable once activated. You may pause an annual membership for medical or genuine compassionate reasons by writing to us — extensions are at our discretion.
2.5. Cancellation by us. If we have to cancel a session or course (for example, due to facility closure, staff illness or insufficient bookings) we will offer a transfer to an equivalent session, a credit to your account, or a full refund.
3. Use of the facility
3.1. Code of conduct. When using our facility you must:
- Follow all instructions from our staff at all times;
- Respect other users and staff — abusive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated;
- Wipe down equipment after use and keep walkways clear;
- Not climb under the influence of alcohol or any substance that impairs your judgement;
- Wear suitable clothing and footwear; loose jewellery and watches should be removed before climbing;
- Supervise children at all times where supervision is required.
3.2. Equipment. You may use your own climbing equipment provided it is in serviceable condition and complies with relevant safety standards. Hire equipment is available; you are responsible for any loss or damage to hired equipment beyond reasonable wear.
3.3. Right to refuse entry. We reserve the right to refuse entry, to require any person to leave the premises, or to suspend or cancel a membership without refund if our code of conduct is breached, or if we reasonably consider a person's behaviour to pose a risk to themselves or others.
3.4. Photography and filming. Photography and filming for personal use are permitted in general public areas of the centre, with consideration for other climbers. Commercial photography requires prior written permission. By using our facility you consent to incidental capture in photos or videos we take for marketing purposes; please speak to a member of staff if you wish to opt out.
4. Risk and liability
4.1. Climbing is inherently risky. Indoor climbing is a strenuous activity that carries an inherent risk of injury, including serious injury, even when undertaken in a managed environment. By using our facilities you acknowledge this risk and agree to take responsibility for your own safety, including not attempting anything beyond your skill level.
4.2. Your acknowledgement. Our registration and waiver process explains the risks of climbing and asks you to acknowledge them before climbing for the first time. You must complete this process honestly and notify staff of any condition that may affect your safe participation.
4.3. Our liability. Subject to clause 4.4, we exclude all liability for damages arising out of or in connection with your use of our facilities or our website, including (without limitation) direct loss, loss of business or profits, damage to equipment, or any other indirect or consequential losses.
4.4. What we do not exclude. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law.
5. Membership
5.1. Memberships are personal to the member named on the membership and are not transferable.
5.2. Members must carry valid ID or be recognisable to staff on each visit. We may ask to verify identity at any time.
5.3. We may amend membership terms, benefits, and pricing on reasonable notice. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days in advance.
6. Website use
6.1. Our website is provided on an "as is" basis. We make reasonable efforts to ensure the information on it is accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that it is error-free or complete.
6.2. You may not use our website in any way that breaks any applicable law or regulation, that is fraudulent, or that knowingly transmits any data or material that is malicious or harmful.
6.3. Intellectual property. The content on our website (including text, logos, images, and design) is owned by or licensed to Leap Training Ltd. You may view, print, and share content for personal, non-commercial use. Any other use requires our prior written permission.
6.4. Third-party links. Where we link to third-party websites (for example, our booking portal, social media, or partner organisations), we are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those sites.
7. Privacy
Our use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms by reference.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our services or to comply with changes in law. The current version will always be published on our website and will apply to any booking, registration, or use of our services from the date of update. We encourage you to review the Terms periodically.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by English law. Any dispute relating to them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
